Crowning a bluff overlooking a majestic bend in the Wallkill River, the Wallkill River House responds to the drama of the landscape with an ancient form; a broad, sloping gable roof.
Featuring a two story porch and upper balcony, the entire house is oriented toward the view of the river. Detailed in board and batten siding with a dynamic rhythm of timber post-and-beam construction, the house is inspired by the picturesque stick style of A. J. Downing and the Adirondack Great Camps of the late 19th century.
