Maple Grove West Facade
Poughkeepsie, NY

Maple Grove, a fine example of an “ornamental farmhouse,” retains most of its original exterior features from 1850 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The main house is a well-composed, symmetrical building constructed of painted red brick, combining elements of Gothic and Italianate styles. Restoration involved a detailed survey of existing conditions and preparation of necessary drawings and specification for the restoration of the brick masonry walls, windows, shutters, exterior porch woodwork and trim. A chromachronology analysis identified the original building colors.
